Visual Poetry

I was just in awe when I saw these!! Words are merely not just words..they speak, dance, play, move us in so many different directions. They are alive..and tell us such amazing stories as these sculptures do by designer Ebon Heath. His visual sculptures just makes us stop and admire how words could be so powerful in our world today..at the same time looking at them feels like time has stood still for a mere moment or two. Creative no? Imagine if he did it all in arabic?! Ahh..B E A U T I F U L !

Pushing Design: New Art, its Kanye's cover

He does it again! I just love how Kanye West is so creative and artsy I had to post his latest project here. Pushing the boundaries of art and design, Kanye is inspiring the use of advanced technology on the new cover of Complex magazine with the help of videographer and photographer Chris Milk. A project that's about the futuristic creation of the Complex April/May cover photo shoot using CGI (Computer-generated Imagery), by creating a photograph from a facial scan that gathers data from a camera that revolves around an object. A computer then brings the images together to create an eerie detailed 2D photograph. Cool!!!

Chaos @ Saks?

On my shopping outing today, I entered Saks Fifth Avenue and saw artwork snippets from Shepard Fairey's Studio Number One for Saks' Spring 2009 WANT IT! Campaign. Mainly it was on tables, as I was distracted with other stuff displayed here and there ;) I thought to myself, what could this campaign be all about? The stuff that were displayed as WANT IT's were trends to follow, the latest, the best, etc. Personally they weren't that wanted, not to object to anyone, its just from my personal point of view.
The main question is .. is the campaign seen as artfully choatic or distraction chaotic or beautifully chaotic? To me, its a balance of artfully chaotic yet distraction chaotic.

You be the judge.

Touches of yellow in the office

Minimalist design, a clean white space with touches of yellow, makes any office space vibrant with energy. Just a touch here and there of a bright color brings freshness to the space and enhances productivity. Not your old dull greyish cubicle in the corner, surrounded by dull colors and plastic plants. No.
N59 Arkitekter designed this new office space for Swedish consultant firm Kapero, by creating the whole space with white clean minimalist designs, with touches of yellow as details. The arrows from Kapero's logo are used throughout the space such as the handles on the cabinets, and patterns on the walls.

British design classics on stamps

The Royal Mail has issued a set of 10 stamps celebrating 20th-century British design classics for this year! All iconic British designs that are known throughout the world. Example: Sir Giles Gilbert Scott’s design of the bright-red telephone box, or the Routemaster Bus: A true symbol of London to visitors from all over the world, now only a few of Douglas Scott and Colin Curtis’s remain on London’s streets. The Mini by Sir Alec Issigoni, has made use of every available space in the small car that was as much a fashion statement as a means of transport, the Robin Day chair, and Penguin books designed by Edward Young just to name a few.

Effective Communication!

Latest project: Her window installation for Estate Agents Douglas & Gordon in South Kensington. A piece celebrating the famous residents of the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea, who have left their mark and contributed to its rich heritage.

A response designed to promote the M25 motorway. "wipe away the confusion take the M25".

From Man or Mouse: a campaign to encourage internet users to cut down their time and enjoy more of the outside world.
Commissioned illustration for the New York Times Magazine.

A collaborative project questioning how, what, when and where advertising prevades. Engaging and involving the audience with the advertising.

Visual Communication is very important when you want to say something that sometimes words cannot fulfill..This is why graphic designers or illustrators, etc. are called for help. I've come across many successful visual communications which involve the audience to participate in the advertisement .. If the visual message is done successfully it will come with a positive outcome to the client from the audience and vice-versa.
I found out about graphic designer Shaz Madani, a graduate from LCC (London College of Communication) who has done some brilliant works, and she has visually communicated successfully.
