Exploring "Consume" in Art

- Bag stools

- Strangled Lights

- Flame Lamps

Artist of the Week: London designer Gitta Gschwendtner

Bag stools: a series of woodcrete (a mixture of wood fibers and concrete) stools cast from moulds based on paper shopping bags - commissioned by the Design Museum and Time Out Magazine.
By referencing material consumption, she
investigated the tangible link between design and the city in an installation for the Design Museum Tank exploring the theme “Consume”.

Other previous works by Gitta,

-Strangled Lights: ceramic pendant lights

-Flame Lamps: A series of lamps utilizing low-energy bulbs designed for TEN. It mimics tradition and a sense of warm coziness with its electric flame.
