The Wood Show @ Paul Smith SPACE gallery Tokyo

This is simply BC!! I love :D

Fashion Designer Paul Smith has hosted "The Wood Show", an exhibition by British artist Richard Woods, at the Paul Smith SPACE gallery in Tokyo.

The entire floor of the gallery has been covered with "logo", a printed wood block work by the artist. A modern form of marquetry, graphic cut-off pictures of wood are inlaid with the raw plywood floor creating a simple yet striking view. Vibrant colors in the graphic pictures with the natural raw beauty of the plywood are clashed together. The exhibition also showcases logo 57, 5 series of off-cut inlay prints (no. 41, 42, 43, 44, and 45), plus 4 sculptured logo prints, a green lamp, in addition to 10 limited edition logo prints created by Woods for Paul Smith.

Woods has been renowned for altering architectural spaces into an entirely new surrounding! Here he used his traditional wood block printing technique on plywood with household gloss finishes.
